Since i have time, there is no need to take the plane so I choose for the budget way of travelling into Vietnam, HCMC. Local bus which is about 10h drive but only $18.

First with several minibuses from Kampot to the border town Ha Tien. This already took us 3 hours for only 50km but many stops and the border control was also bit slow. No scams as the bus company took care of the immigration so all fine. Just took around an hour to clear the border and get finally on the bigger bus in Vietnam. We were lucky as this was the night sleeper version and only half occupied, hence we could choose the seats – sleeps. Those “beds” are asian size, hence I have to squeeze in there. Luckily I could move to the back where I could stretch my legs…all good now.
